Function:
Core function is to establish a reliable serial communication link between dual-ported field I/O devices and FOXBORO Evo™ or I/A Series DCS. It supports master-tracker redundant configuration, with automatic role switching when faults (e.g., heartbeat loss) are detected, or manual switching via SMDH. The four serial ports can be configured as a single logical port with redundant cables to connect dual-ported devices. It integrates field device data into the FOXBORO control database, supports downloadable I/O software drivers from the protocol library, and is compatible with custom drivers. Built-in self-diagnostic functions monitor port communication status and module operation, with LED indicators for operational status, communication activity, and master/tracker status. It also supports on-site mounting and seamless integration with FOXBORO control software for configuration and monitoring.
