Woodward 8237-1597 Standard Wiring & Connection Method
1. Redundant Power Supply Wiring
Two groups of independent HV power terminals are connected to two separate 100–150VDC stabilized DC power sources respectively to realize power redundancy;
Connect the equipment grounding terminal to the cabinet protective ground with grounding resistance ≤4Ω;
Use shielded high-voltage DC cables, power wiring must be separated from signal wiring.
2. MPU Speed Sensor Wiring
Connect passive magnetic pickup (MPU) probes to three groups of voted speed input terminals respectively;
Adopt dedicated shielded twisted-pair cables, single-point grounding of shielding layer only at the equipment end.
3. Voted Trip Relay Output Wiring
The three groups of voted trip relay contacts are connected in series to the turbine emergency trip valve control loop;
Do not arbitrarily add intermediate relays to avoid affecting trip reliability.

4. Discrete Interlock Input Wiring
Connect external permission signals, emergency stop signals and auxiliary interlock signals to voted digital input terminals;
All input signals adopt isolated wiring to prevent external interference.
5. Communication Wiring
RS485 Modbus RTU terminals connect to upper DCS system with shielded twisted-pair cables;
Ethernet port is used for high-speed data transmission and remote debugging.
6. Wiring Precautions
All wiring operations must be completed under full power-off status of the overspeed protection device;
High-current power cables and weak signal sensor cables must be routed separately;
After wiring, complete overspeed threshold and voting logic configuration via ProTech-GII dedicated software before commissioning.
