1. General Description
DS200SLCCG3ADC serves as the SLCC LAN Communication Card designed for the GE Speedtronic Mark V turbine control system. Integrated with an on-board LAN Control Processor (LCP), dual-port RAM, two removable EPROM modules, differential DLAN/RS422 communication circuitry and a keypad interface, this board enables high-speed data transmission among drive control boards, main controllers and network nodes. It contains no analog or discrete field input/output terminals; all interfaces function as digital communication ports.
2. Pre-Installation Safety Requirements
Installation and replacement work shall only be carried out by qualified technicians trained on GE Mark V systems.
Cut off power supply to the entire Mark V chassis before handling the circuit board.
Always wear an anti-static wrist strap connected to the cabinet protective earth.
Avoid direct contact with PCB traces, integrated circuits and EPROM pins.
Examine the board for physical damage, burnt components and bent connectors prior to installation.
Ensure EPROM firmware versions are consistent with the unit’s application configuration.
3. Hardware Installation Steps
Align DS200SLCCG3ADC with the Mark V backplane slot and insert vertically without applying excessive force.
Tighten the module mounting screws evenly to fix the board securely.
Connect the ARCPL communication cable to the P5 external connector; shielded twisted-pair cable is mandatory.
Configure jumper JP15 to select isolated or non-isolated communication mode in accordance with site schematics.
Fit an external 16-key alphanumeric keypad if local diagnostic operations are required.
Separate communication cables from high-power wiring with a minimum clearance of 20 cm to mitigate EMI interference.
4. Power-Up & Startup Operation
Complete full wiring inspection and confirm no short circuits exist on the backplane bus and communication lines.
Energize the Mark V chassis power supply gradually.
Monitor on-board LED indicators: a steady power light indicates stable 5VDC power from the backplane.
The LCP loads and runs the boot program stored in U6 and U7 EPROM cartridges; the boot sequence lasts 10–30 seconds.
Upon successful initialization, the module establishes dual-port RAM communication with the drive control board.
Use keypad diagnostic functions to verify link status of DLAN differential signals (TXA/TXB, RXA/RXB).

5. Local Keypad Operation & Diagnostics
Utilize the matched keypad to view real-time communication status, network node address and fault registers.
Retrieve fault codes including communication timeout, parity errors, bus conflicts and LCP abnormal alarms.
Access data exchange buffers between the LCP and dual-port RAM.
Adjust configurable LAN node parameters — adjustments are only permitted when the equipment is shut down.
Document all active diagnostic fault codes before replacing a defective board.
6. Normal Running Operation Guidelines
Hot plugging or unplugging the board during system operation is strictly prohibited.
Maintain adequate cabinet ventilation to keep operating temperature within the range of 0°C to 60°C.
Protect the PCB from severe vibration, dust accumulation and condensation.
Check the tightness of P5 connectors and backplane edge connectors during scheduled outages.
When recurring communication error alarms occur, first inspect cable shielding, terminating resistors and jumper settings.
7. Communication Configuration Rules
Differential signal definition: TXA and TXB = Transmit Outputs; RXA and RXB = Receive Inputs
P5 Connector Pin Definition: +5VDC (P5), DCOM (Digital Common Ground), TXA, TXB, RXA, RXB
Install appropriate terminating resistors at both ends of long-distance DLAN bus cables.
It is forbidden to deploy isolated and non-isolated nodes on the same DLAN network.
8. Fault Troubleshooting Procedure
No power LED illumination: Check backplane power supply and slot contact conditions.
Persistent communication failures: Verify JP15 jumper configuration, cable integrity and bus termination.
LCP boot failure: Remove and reinsert EPROM cartridges, and confirm firmware compatibility.
Keypad failure to respond: Inspect serial wiring and pin connections of the keypad.
If errors remain unresolved after wiring inspection, replace with a spare DS200SLCCG3ADC module.
9. Shutdown & Removal Procedure
Perform safe unit shutdown and disconnect the main power of the chassis.
Allow a minimum of 5 minutes for full discharge of internal circuit capacitors.
Disconnect the external P5 communication cable and keypad wiring.
Loosen mounting screws and pull the circuit board out smoothly in vertical direction.
Immediately place the removed module into an anti-static shielding bag.
10. Important Limitations & Warnings
This board is incapable of processing analog 4–20mA signals or discrete signals from field sensors and actuators.
All firmware modifications or EPROM replacements must match the turbine control application software.
Unauthorized jumper adjustments may lead to complete DLAN network breakdown and risk of turbine trip.
Refer to official GE manual GEI-100162 for comprehensive technical specifications.
