Pre-Commissioning Inspection (Power OFF Status)
Wear a grounded ESD wrist strap before handling the module. Inspect the PCB for physical damage including scratches, burnt components, bent pins and corrosion.
Verify U6/U7 EPROM firmware matches the turbine control configuration and confirm JP15 jumper setting (isolated/non-isolated DLAN) per site drawings.
Install the card vertically into the designated backplane slot and fasten the mounting screws securely.
Wire the shielded twisted-pair ARCPL cable to the P5 connector for TXA, TXB, RXA, RXB and DCOM. Install an external 16-key keypad if local diagnosis is required.
Check proper installation of DLAN bus terminating resistors at both cable ends and use a multimeter to rule out short circuits on all bus and communication wiring.
Power-Up and Initial Boot Test
Complete final wiring inspection and ensure all connectors are fully seated before closing the cabinet door.
Power on the Mark V chassis gradually. A steady onboard LED indicates normal 5VDC backplane power.
Wait 10–30 seconds for LCP bootup from EPROM modules. Check and record any abnormal or constant red fault LED status during initialization.
Basic Communication Verification
Access the diagnostic menu via the external keypad and confirm the correct DLAN node address is assigned.
Verify stable bidirectional dual-port RAM communication between the SLCC card and drive control board, as well as normal operating status of all DLAN differential Tx/Rx signals.
Clear historical faults and monitor for new communication error codes.
Parameter Configuration
Modify LAN node address and other network parameters only under full system shutdown, then save all configuration changes.
Perform a chassis power cycle to confirm effective and stable parameter retention after reboot.
Online Functional Test
Keep the system in idle status and continuously monitor communication buffer data for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Check for recurring faults such as communication timeout, parity error and DLAN bus conflicts. Verify consistent data transmission among all DLAN nodes and stable keypad communication.
Fault Simulation & Stability Check (Offline Unit Only)
Disconnect and reconnect the P5 cable to test link recovery capability. Confirm only standard communication loss alarms trigger without turbine trips.
Restore wiring and verify automatic DLAN link recovery.
Post-Commissioning Documentation
Record EPROM firmware version, JP15 mode and DLAN node address. Save all diagnostic fault records.
Confirm zero persistent communication errors during testing and file all records for future maintenance reference.
Important Notes
Hot swapping is strictly prohibited. Isolated and non-isolated nodes cannot coexist on one DLAN bus.
Resolve boot or communication faults by re-seating EPROM cartridges and inspecting wiring first.
