GE IS2020RKPSG2A Wiring Guide

1. Pre-Wiring Preparation

Disconnect the power supply of the entire VME rack and implement lockout-tagout safety procedures.

Verify that the module is fully seated and locked in the dedicated power slot on the right side of the Mark VI VME rack.

Fasten all terminal screws with a torque of 0.6 Nm; excessive tightening and loose connections are prohibited.

Route all wiring clear of heat sinks and ventilation openings to prevent airflow blockage.

2. Bottom Connector Wiring (Input and Special Output Interfaces)

PS125 / PS24 (Main DC Input Terminals, Bottom Left Area)

Standard setup: The PS125 port connects to the 125 VDC output of the system PDM power distribution module, with positive and negative polarities strictly observed.

Alternative low-voltage setup: The PS24 port is adopted for connection to an external 24 VDC power supply.

The module is equipped with reverse polarity protection, yet incorrect polarity will activate power supply lockout protection.

PS335 Terminal

It is wired to the TRPG flame detection board and provides constant 335 VDC dedicated power for flame sensors. Single independent wiring and isolated wiring harnesses are required.

PS28 Terminal

This remote extended +28 VDC output port is intended for external low-power field auxiliary devices, with adjustable internal jumpers:

Default jumper setting: PS28 is connected to the rack internal 28V bus, exclusively supplying power to internal rack components;

Isolated jumper setting: PS28 serves as an independent external power output for field-side equipment power supply.

PSSTAT Terminal

Two-core feedback wiring is adopted to link with the system DPU monitoring board, transmitting operational status signals including normal state, overvoltage and overcurrent faults.

3. Top Connector Wiring (Main Power Bus Output)

PSA Connector

Composed of 5 independent local +28 VDC output channels, connected to local I/O boards on the VME backplane to deliver operating power to field modules.

PSB Connector

Delivers composite multi-voltage bus outputs (+5VDC, ±12VDC, ±15VDC, +28VDC). Special cables connect this port to the main VME backplane bus to power all main control boards inside the rack.

4. Front Panel Auxiliary Components & Wiring Description

Reset Toggle Switch: No external wiring needed. It is manually toggled to reset locked power faults after power-off maintenance.

Three LED indicators are integrated into internal circuits without external wiring access: Green light stands for normal operation, yellow light for input power abnormality warning, red light for hardware fault alert.

5. Redundant Parallel Connection (Dual-Module Redundant Operation)

For two IS2020RKPSG2A modules running in redundant parallel mode:

The PS125/PS24 input terminals of both modules are connected in parallel to the identical 125VDC power source;

PSA and PSB outputs are commonly wired to the shared VME backplane bus;

PSSTAT signal wires are connected to the same monitoring channel to collect operating status of both power modules.

6. Wiring Verification and Power-On Inspection

Use a multimeter to inspect all circuits for short circuits, open circuits and polarity mistakes prior to power-on.

Implement staged power-on: energize the input power first, then test all output voltages to ensure compliance with rated specifications.

Confirm the green indicator stays steadily lit while yellow and red indicators remain off before official system commissioning.
