Connector-Based Signal Partitioning

Relay Channel Functional Assignment
Equipped with 21 pluggable relays, the board features fixed channel allocation for turbine protection loops:
Primary Trip Relay Group: Implements fuel cutoff logic and delivers main emergency trip outputs for turbines.
Auxiliary Protection Relay Group: Processes auxiliary trip events including excessive vibration, high exhaust temperature and low lube oil pressure faults.
Permissive Interlock Relay Group: Controls startup permission, valve interlock and condition signals for sequence control.
Alarm Indication Relay Group: Activates cabinet local alarms and remote fault notification contacts.
Hardware Jumper Configuration
Onboard jumpers configure channel operation modes, including normally open/normally closed contact logic, energized or de-energized failsafe trip modes, and signal debounce parameters. Based on on-site engineering drawings, jumper configurations allocate each channel to specific protection loops.
System Logical Division Within Mark V Architecture
Operating outside the R/S/T triple modular redundant (TMR) core racks, this simplex trip board performs independent simplex safety trip functions.
Safety Trip Channel: Designed for hardwired emergency shutdown circuits that operate independently of software control.
Monitoring & Status Channel: Transmits relay contact status to the control system for fault diagnostics via Mark V Toolbox.
Local Auxiliary Control Channel: Implements cabinet auxiliary interlock without depending on commands from core controllers.
Signal Flow Allocation Rules
Field discrete signals are imported through JLY, processed by onboard conditioning circuits and assigned to corresponding relay channels.
Trip commands issued by main control boards are received via JLX to trigger specified protection relays.
Relay contact outputs are split into two paths: one is delivered to field actuators through terminal wiring, and the other is fed back via JLZ for system status monitoring.
All channel functions are statically assigned via hardware wiring and jumper configurations; function partitioning cannot be adjusted through software programming.
