9907-165 Woodward Standard Wiring Method & Operation Guidelines
Pre-Wiring Safety Precautions
1. The controller contains electrostatic sensitive PCB components; operators must wear anti-static wristbands before wiring to prevent static burnout of internal circuits.
2. Fully cut off total power supply of the control cabinet before all wiring work, confirm no residual voltage at all terminals.
3. Classify cables during wiring: power cables, analog signal cables and digital signal cables shall be routed separately to reduce electromagnetic crosstalk; all signal cables adopt shielded twisted-pair wires with single-point grounding for shielding layer.
Step-by-Step Wiring Procedures
1. Main Power Wiring
Connect 180–264 VAC mains power or 18–32 VDC backup DC power to the dedicated rear power terminal block, strictly distinguish live wire, neutral wire and DC positive/negative poles, tighten terminal screws completely to avoid poor contact.
2. Speed Sensor Signal Wiring
Wire two MPU magnetic speed sensors to SPEED 1 and SPEED 2 dual redundant input terminals respectively; lay shielded twisted cables and ground the shielding end at the controller side only.
3. Actuator & Analog Output Wiring
Connect turbine hydraulic actuator lines to 2 actuator dedicated output terminals; link field indicator, valve position feedback equipment to 6-channel programmable 4–20 mA analog current output terminals.
4. Digital Interlock & Relay Wiring
Connect external emergency stop, boiler interlock, bearing fault and other trip dry contacts to digital discrete input terminals; connect 8 relay output terminals to on-site alarm lights, solenoid valves and contactors for protection linkage action.
5. Communication Bus Wiring

9907-165 Woodward Core Product Advantages
1. Dual Speed/Load Dynamic Control Function: Independent parameter setting for rated and variable working conditions, realizing rapid switching between speed regulation mode and load regulation mode for stable unit operation under fluctuating working conditions.
2. Complex Steam Process Control: Natively supports single extraction and admission pressure closed-loop control, ideal for cogeneration turbines and multi-process industrial steam units.
3. High Regulation Precision: Steady-state speed control accuracy up to ±0.02%, ultra-fast dynamic response effectively suppresses load fluctuation and grid frequency deviation.
4. Complete Safety Protection System: Integrated overspeed protection, low speed trip, actuator fault detection, power loss protection and multi-level interlock shutdown functions, compliant with Class I Div 2 hazardous area safety requirements.
5. Field Programmable & User-Friendly Debugging: Menu-driven software architecture, support parameter upload/download via OpView and 505View upper computer software, convenient for on-site modification and offline backup.
6. Strong System Compatibility: Compatible with most mainstream DCS brands, support standalone local manual operation and remote automatic control dual modes, flexible for system transformation and expansion.
7. Long-Term Industrial Durability: Adopts military-grade electronic components and full aging testing, supports 24/7 non-stop continuous operation, greatly reducing unplanned equipment downtime and maintenance cost.
