Woodward DA10141-000-012 Compatible System & I/O Specification
General Description
The DA10141-000-012 is a 12 V Dyna-APECS linear fuel rack actuator designed for Stanadyne-D series mechanical fuel injection pumps. It provides precise closed-loop fuel rack position regulation for industrial diesel engines and generator sets, supporting stable speed governing and load control.
Compatible Control Systems & Applications
Woodward APECS Series Controllers: APECS-0250, APECS-0300, APECS-4500 (8800-1006 / 8800-1008)
Woodward DPG-23XX Series Off-Highway Digital Speed Governors: DPG-2302-002, DPG-2345-002
Applicable Engine Models: John Deere 4024TF220, 4024TF270, 4024TF281, 5030HF220, 5030HF270, 5030TF220, 5030TF270
Cross Reference Part Number: RE522423
Input Signals
Operating Power Input: 12 V DC nominal voltage, continuous operating range: 9–14.5 V DC
Control Command Input: Bidirectional PWM drive signal from matched Woodward APECS / DPG governor; does not support direct 4–20 mA or 0–5 V analog control signals
Internal Sensor Power: Integrated 5 V DC onboard power supply for internal rack position potentiometer
Output Signals
Mechanical Output: Linear push/pull displacement actuation to drive Stanadyne-D pump fuel control rack for fuel adjustment
Feedback Output: Built-in potentiometer provides variable resistance position feedback signal, transmitting real-time fuel rack position to the controller for closed-loop precise regulation
No additional analog output, relay output or CAN communication interface; all fault diagnosis and operational status data is processed and displayed by the paired Woodward governor
Technical Application Notes
This actuator only operates with dedicated Woodward APECS and DPG-23XX series governors; it cannot work with generic external analog control signals.
Typical applications include industrial diesel engines, generator sets and off-road machinery speed governing systems.
Integrated wiring connectors consist of a 2-pin terminal for motor drive power and a multi-pin terminal for position feedback signal transmission。

Woodward DA10141-000-012 Operation Steps
1. Pre-Installation Inspection
Confirm the part number is DA10141-000-012, and inspect the unit for physical defects including impact damage, dents and water ingress.
Verify compatible mating components: Stanadyne-D series fuel injection pump and supported APECS / DPG-23XX speed governor controller.
Examine the 2-pin motor drive connector and multi-pin position feedback connector; ensure pins are intact, free from bending and corrosion.
Confirm the system power supply satisfies the 9-14.5 V DC operating voltage specification.
2. Mechanical Mounting & Linkage Assembly
Securely mount the actuator to the Stanadyne-D fuel pump mounting base, and torque mounting bolts to factory-specified values.
Attach the actuator push-pull rod to the fuel control rack of the injection pump. Confirm smooth travel with no binding, seizure or excessive mechanical friction.
Adjust linkage travel to achieve full stroke movement between minimum-fuel and maximum-fuel rack positions.
Fully tighten the linkage adjustment lock nut to prevent position drift induced by engine vibration.
3. Electrical Wiring
Ensure both engine and controller power are completely powered-off before starting wiring work.
Plug the 2-pin motor drive connector into the corresponding PWM drive output port of the governor.
Connect the multi-pin feedback connector to the potentiometer feedback channel on the matching controller.
Route the wiring harness away from high-temperature exhaust components and moving mechanical assemblies; fasten cables properly with cable ties.
Check for short-circuits between pins, and prevent mis-wiring of drive and feedback connectors.
4. Pre-Power-On Verification
Manually cycle the fuel rack through its full travel range to rule out mechanical sticking.
Confirm locking clips on all connectors are fully engaged and latched.
Inspect drive and feedback circuits for loose terminals, short-circuits and open-circuit conditions.
Ensure the governor controller is pre-configured with correct parameter sets for the Dyna-APECS actuator.
5. Power-Up and Static Calibration (Engine Not Running)
Apply 12 V DC system power while keeping the engine in shutdown status.
Establish communication with the paired APECS / DPG-23XX governor using the Woodward ACT calibration tool.
Complete actuator position feedback calibration: define minimum-fuel and maximum-fuel rack positions, and store corresponding potentiometer feedback resistance readings.
Trigger bidirectional actuator movement via manual controller commands. The push-pull rod shall move smoothly without abnormal noise or intermittent stalling.
Validate that the controller receives accurate real-time fuel-rack position feedback. Perform troubleshooting if feedback readings are missing or out-of-range.
6. Engine Commissioning and Dynamic Tuning
Have emergency stop measures ready to mitigate overspeed hazards before engine cranking.
Crank and start the engine, then operate under no-load conditions.
Adjust governor gain, stability and speed-set parameters via the calibration tool to resolve speed hunting and high-frequency actuator oscillation.
Validate full-stroke fuel-rack response under no-load and loaded operating conditions, and evaluate acceleration as well as deceleration performance.
Continuously monitor position feedback signals during operation to confirm stable closed-loop control.
Operate the engine at partial-load and full-load points to verify governing performance complies with site requirements.
7. Normal Operation
The DA10141-000-012 actuator has no local manual operating buttons. All speed and fuel regulation functions are managed entirely by the matched Woodward governor.
The controller continuously monitors actuator feedback signals. Fault codes will be generated upon detection of open-circuit, short-circuit or abnormal feedback conditions.
Carry out periodic inspections for connector security and linkage tightness during long-term service.
8. Shutdown and De-commissioning Procedure
Stop the engine first, then disconnect the DC system power supply.
For unit removal: detach electrical connectors first, then disassemble mechanical linkage and mounting bolts.
Do not pull cables directly; grip connector housings for plugging and unplugging operations.
