EDS-510E-3GTXSFP-T MOXA Layer 2 Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch Functions
Port Interface Function Features seven 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 copper ports plus three Gigabit combo ports supporting 10/100/1000BaseT(X) copper or 100/1000Base-SFP fiber modules. Auto-negotiation, auto-MDI/MDI-X and full-/half-duplex operation are supported. SFP slots facilitate long-haul fiber-based data transmission.
Redundant Network Function Delivers resilient network redundancy through native MOXA Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain, together with standard RSTP/STP and MSTP protocols. Ring fail-over recovery is completed within 20 ms, well-suited for high-availability industrial control networks.
Network Management Function Configuration, firmware update and configuration backup can be performed via web interface, Telnet, CLI console and onboard USB port. It works with MXstudio management software, and implements RMON, LLDP as well as DHCP Option 82 for efficient network surveillance and dynamic IP allocation.
VLAN & Multicast Control Provides port-based VLAN, IEEE 802.1Q tag-based VLAN and GVRP functions. IGMP Snooping and GMRP are integrated to filter redundant multicast streams and optimize network bandwidth consumption.
QoS Traffic Prioritization Enforces QoS rules based on IEEE 802.1p/1Q and TOS/DiffServ, equipped with four hardware-based priority queues to ensure low-latency, predictable delivery for time-critical industrial traffic.
Industrial Protocol Support Supports mainstream industrial protocols including Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET, enabling straightforward interoperability with industrial-grade PLC, SCADA and automation equipment.
Precision Time Synchronization Embedded IEEE 1588 PTPv2 precision time protocol achieves accurate time synchronization among distributed field devices across the whole industrial network.
Network Security Mechanism Security controls include SNMPv3, IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+ and sticky MAC address function to block unauthorized login and malicious network intrusion. It meets IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 1 requirements.
Alarm & Digital I/O One digital input channel and one relay alarm output (1 A @24 VDC) are provided. Relay contact signal and email notification will be activated for events such as power loss, link down and other network anomalies.
Hardware & Environmental Function Dual-redundant 9.6-60 VDC power inputs with overload protection. Operating temperature spans -40 °C to 75 °C. DIN-rail mounting is supported, and enhanced EMC immunity guarantees stable performance under severe industrial operating conditions.

Configuration Procedures for Port Parameters on MOXA EDS-510E-3GTXSFP-T
Preparation Before Configuration Connect your PC to one of the switch’s Ethernet ports. Assign your PC an IP address within the same subnet as the factory-default switch IP: 192.168.127.254, and confirm normal network connectivity. Configuration access is supported through Web UI, Telnet, USB-Console CLI or MXconfig utility. Default login credentials: username-admin, password-moxa.
Log in to Web-based Management Interface Enter the switch IP address in your web browser, input account credentials to open the main management dashboard, then follow the navigation path: Port → Port Settings.
Select Target Ports for Editing Select single ports or perform multi-port batch configuration, covering seven 10/100 Mbps copper ports and three Gigabit combo ports. For combo ports, define the active media type: RJ45 copper interface or SFP fiber module.

Configure Basic Physical-layer Port Parameters Port Enable/Disable: Enable or de-activate selected ports. Disable idle ports to strengthen network security. Speed & Duplex: Keep auto-negotiation, or manually lock speed (10/100/1000 Mbps) and duplex mode (full-duplex / half-duplex) according to specifications of connected field devices. MDI/MDI-X: Retain auto mode as factory default; manual adjustment is available for special wiring conditions. Flow Control: Toggle IEEE 802.3x flow control on or off to mitigate network congestion.
Configure Advanced Port-related Parameters Bandwidth Rate-limiting: Set ingress and egress bandwidth thresholds to restrain broadcast, multicast and unknown-unicast storm traffic. Port Security: Configure MAC-address learning limits or static secure MAC entries to prevent access from unapproved devices. VLAN Assignment: Set PVID and tagged/untagged VLAN attributes for each port under the dedicated VLAN menu. QoS Priority: Allocate 802.1p priority queues for time-sensitive industrial data on designated ports. Alarm Trigger: Activate link-down alerts delivered by relay output or email notification for mission-critical ports.
Save Applied Configuration Click “Apply” to make new port settings take effect. Navigate to System → Save Configuration to write parameters into flash memory. Unsaved configurations will be discarded after power cycling.
Verification of Port Configuration Open the Port Status page to inspect real-time link speed, duplex status and port operational state. Carry out communication tests with connected field equipment such as PLCs and HMIs, and cross-validate port LED indicators against expected working conditions.
CLI Alternative Configuration Brief Log into CLI through Telnet or USB console port. Enter configure-terminal mode, execute the interface ethernet command to enter port configuration context, modify parameters including speed-duplex and flow-control, run write-memory command to persist all changes.
Post-commissioning Backup Export the full configuration file as backup, which enables quick system restoration for later maintenance or hardware replacement scenarios.
